Hi! I’m Carol-Anne. I am a Southampton-based Accredited Independent Celebrant performing ceremonies of wedding celebration, commitment, civil partnership, renewal of vows, naming, welcoming, funeral and celebration of life ceremonies. Being a wife, mum of two and grandma of seven, family values are very close to my heart. I was brought up in a close family environment and those values mean the world to me.
I am a very positive person; compassionate and empathetic, I have always worked and volunteered for organisations that enable me to help others.
Being a creative story teller is what I do, it is what excites me and what makes me smile. Everyone has a story that deserves to be told. I really enjoy getting to know my clients and their families. Hearing their stories and helping them to share them in inspirational, captivating and heartfelt ways.
Each ceremony I craft is never repeated. It is as unique and special as the individual(s) that it is created for. Each ceremony is crafted with care, individuality and respect. Each ceremony, whether telling a love story, a life story or celebrating a birth; is exquisitely made. Just like the individuals at the heart of each and every one.
I’d love to work with you to capture and share your story. Together we can create a special, tailor-made ceremony. One that is directed by you and has you and your family and friends at the centre. One that portrays your perfect vision.
EXPERIENCE
Following a career as a Mental Health Nurse, managing ski resorts and a customer facing role in retail, I become a civil funeral celebrant. My own experiences with loss and bereavement were not necessarily positive…so I wanted to try and change the whole funeral experience for others.
I have enjoyed my work immensely and I’ve received such wonderful and encouraging feedback. So much so, that I have expanded my repertoire to include Wedding Celebration, Commitment, Civil Partnership, Renewal of Vows, Naming, Welcoming, Funeral and Celebration of Life Ceremonies. I now hold the following qualifications: -
NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (the only national qualification in this field approved by Ofqual)
NOCN Level 4 in Creating and Conducting Child and Baby Funeral.
NOCN Level 4 in Creating and Delivering Funeral Tributes (Advanced Practice)
NOCN Level 3 Couples and Naming Ceremonies.
I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants; www.independentcelebrants.com AOIC membership includes Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
